How to make green water. Food for moina and bloodworm.
Materials
- 1 tank of water (no chlorine)
- urea fertilizer and science fertilizer formula 16-20-0 or 16-16-16
- finely bran or chicken food.

Steps make green water
1. Prepare the tank
- Fill 1 tank with dechlorinated water.
- Place the tank in full sunlight.
2. Mix fertilizers
- In a bowl, mix a small amount of urea and NPK fertilizer with water.
- Add finely ground rice bran or chicken feed.
- Stir well.
3. Let it settle
- Leave the mixture for about 1 day.
- Wait for sediment to settle at the bottom.
4. Add to tank
- Pour only the clear water (not the sediment) into the prepared tank.
5. Add algae starter
- Add the single-cell green algae starter culture.
- Stir well to combine.
6. Sunlight & stirring
- Leave the tank in strong sunlight for about 5 days.
- Stir the water frequently.
- The water will gradually turn green.
7. If ammonia smell appears
- Use aeration (air pump / oxygen blower) to remove the smell.
- Avoid adding too much fertilizer.
Important Tips
- Do not add too much fertilizer — it can cause ammonia spikes.
- Strong sunlight helps algae grow faster.
- Light green color is ideal. Dark green means too concentrated.
